Hi, I'm Jimmy. Thanks for checking out 'Very Impressive People'; a community for positive, creative folk who dare to dream and make things come true.
I've always been a dreamer. Lying in bed at night listening to the radio at 11 years old, led me to leaving school at 16 to pursue my goal of working in the business. Fast forward 8 years, I was in London working for BBC Radio 2 opening Terry Wogan's letters and answering calls for Jonathan Ross. Within the next 6 years, I'd presented my own UK network radio show from Key 103, Manchester, created BBC Children In Need's first ever podcast starring Sir Paul McCartney and produced the Chris Evans breakfast Show, Fearne Cotton and Sara Cox on BBC Radio 2 to 9 million people.
Elsewhere, I've been warm-up DJ for Jeff Lynne's ELO at Hyde Park to 60,000 festival goers, to DJ'ing post Michael Buble's performance for 100 people. Not bad for the teenager who started out DJ'ing at a working men's club every Friday night in Frome.
I'm fascinated by people and ideas. I thrive on it, it inspires me, it gives me energy when I hear about great stories. I think it does you too, otherwise you wouldn't be here? I love how you can take the seed of a thought and through hard-work, connecting with the right people and never giving up can make the unimaginable happen. Think about the laptop i'm writing this on... created by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak... think about Tim Berner's Lee and the world wide web... I could go on.
Keep attacking, it's the only way!
